Filipiniana rubber stamp from Papemelroti

Korean art stamps are cute but they’re too tiny.

As I shared in my previous post, I’m excited to be branching out this year and exploring new creative hobbies. In addition to crocheting and digital scrapbooking, I’ve recently picked up stamping and paper crafting. While I’ve dabbled in paper crafting before, stamping is a completely new adventure for me.

I started with a small starter set from Etsy (right), but I quickly realized that the tiny stamps with shallow relief weren’t giving me the results I wanted. So, I decided to look for bigger stamps with deeper relief.

Just when I was about to place an online order, I received a wonderful surprise from my friend GingMaganda. She sent me this beautiful rubber stamp from Papemelroti, a popular Filipino craft store.

Now this (size) is more like it! I can now use this for both my paper crafting and Postcrossing activities.

The stamp features a Filipino man in a traditional costume called the Barong Tagalog, playing the guitar (nangha-harana). I’m absolutely smitten! It’s a timeless design, a charming illustration by the beloved Robert Alejandro, aka, Kuya Robert to many of us. He is the “RO” in Papemelroti!

I’m thrilled to start experimenting with this new tool and can’t wait to share my creations with you in the coming days. Stay tuned for more stamping fun!
